Am I absolutely insane? Have I pulled the usual "Laura" and bit off way more than I should?
Laila and I are prepping to head from Chicago to California, then California back to Chicago through Atlanta... To summarize, we're planning (and by "we" I really mean me) to drive through 17 states in 17 different days. Ambitious? Yes. Insane? Quite possibly. But honestly, I've never been more excited for anything in my life. There are a couple things that are fueling this excitement.
1. This website, allows you to build a road-trip, find hotels, and look for amazing national path times along the way. Can we say largest ball of yarn museum? Absolutely!
2. My family is in California, and despite it not being that long since seeing them last, I feel quite disconnected. I'm hoping to re-energize and engage both myself and Laila in the things about my family that I love best. Specifically, real Mexican food, the Oceanside pier, playing with my niece's hair, and warm hugs from my nephew.
3. On the way back we are headed to see several additional friends and family that either have never met Laila or just miss us.
4. Have I mentioned real Mexican food?
